Who needs a visa to enter India?
Most foreign nationals require a visa to enter India.
Exceptions:
- Citizens of Nepal and Bhutan
- OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders
What type of visa should I apply for?
You must apply for a Conference Visa to attend ICOH 2027.
Can the organisers apply for my visa?
No. The ICOH 2027 Organising Committee can only provide supporting documents.
Delegates are responsible for submitting their own visa applications.
How do I apply for a Conference Visa?
- Register and complete payment for the conference
- Receive your supporting documents via email and download them from your delegate dashboard (within 2 weeks, from August 2026 onwards)
- Apply for a Conference Visa online or through your nearest Indian Embassy / Visa Application Centre (IVAC)
What documents are required?
- Passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Passport-size photograph
- Completed visa application
- ICOH 2027 supporting documents:
- Invitation Letter
- Political Clearance
- Event Clearance
How long does visa processing take?
Processing times vary by country and visa type, typically:
- 3–7 working days (may be longer in some cases)
It is strongly recommended to apply well in advance to avoid delays.
When should I apply?
- Up to 120 days before travel
- Ideally at least 6–8 weeks prior to departure
What if my visa is delayed or rejected?
Visa decisions are made solely by the Indian authorities.
If your visa is delayed or denied:
- Review the reason provided
- Reapply with corrected documentation, if applicable
- Contact your nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate
Is visa approval guaranteed with invitation documents?
No. Supporting documents facilitate your application but do not guarantee approval.
